Marcela I. Pinilla
ESG Analyst


As an ESG Analyst, Marcela is responsible for assessing the environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of existing and potential portfolio companies. Additionally, with the Walden ESG team and in coalition with other investors and stakeholders, Marcela works on shareholder engagement initiatives related to a wide range of sustainability issues. Marcela is a member of Walden’s Research & Engagement Committee, as well as a member of the Sustainable Investing Research Analyst Network’s (SIRAN) Steering Committee and part of the leadership team of BASIC (Boston Area Sustainable Investing Consortium).

Prior to joining Boston Trust and Walden in 2008, Marcela worked with a private consultant focusing on energy efficiency, and was an intern at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative. She earned a B.A. from American University and M.B.A. and M.S. degrees from Brandeis University.
